Reports to: Brand Experience Manager
The Role
As Retail Shop Manager, you will lead the day-to-day success of the Ripton retail experience. You will execute Ripton's retail strategy across all areas of customer service, product knowledge, team development and community engagement to drive traffic and sales. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday, is customer and product obsessed, and wants to grow with a mission-driven startup.
Store Operations
- Perform routine ops tasks including opening-closing, staff scheduling and maintaining optimized inventory levels
- Oversee loss prevention to minimize shrink, leading bi-annual inventory counts and resolving immediate discrepancies
- Partner with the Brand Experience Manager to execute seasonal product launches, community events and marketing initiatives
- Maintain daily workflows that uphold standards for visual merchandising, replenishment, shop cleanliness and downtime tasks
- Carry the Ripton retail experience to off-site events, pop-ups and future retail openings and activations
Training & People Management
- Foster a positive, motivated and team-oriented shop culture aligned with brand goals and expectations
- Support the hiring process, leading onboarding and ongoing development of the retail team
- Identify and implement individual and team training needs, including product education and professional growth
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years retail management experience, outdoor apparel strongly preferred
- Creative problem solver, organized and highly self-motivated
- Exceptional communication, collaboration and people management skills
- Enthusiasm for Ripton's brand and mission
- Operations, inventory, or e-commerce experience is a plus
