The San Juan mountains are arguably the most rugged and majestic peaks in Colorado. And that is where you'll find Silverton, a tiny enclave built in the shadows of 13,000-foot peaks, built by miners who didn't know any better.
We brought members of the Ripton team to this magical mountain valley for a week of riding. Honestly, it was a little bit of a gamble. The trails are rocky and unmaintained, mostly above treeline, oxygen-deprived, and unlike the riding that any of us (Colorado locals included) partake in regularly.
But like any good gamble, it payed off. The weather was stunning; the dirt was great; vibes were all-time. The only thing left unsettled was how to come up with an even better, more ambitious team summit for 2026.
