Welcome. You’ve joined an elite stratosphere of Joristicrats who wear Ripton Denim.
Jorts, jackets, bike pants, j’overalls — whatever you’re rocking, we want your Ripton to live a long and adventurous life. These are our suggestions to keep your get-up in tip-top shape. Some are specific instructions, other points veer into the philosophical realm of denim stewardship.

Ripton wears in, not out.
Internalize this ethos and everything else will start making sense.
Want your Ripton to look cool? Wear it a lot. We designed this stuff to be a counterpoint to mainstream apparel. It’s not about buying something new every week and only wearing a fresh, clean whatever. It’s about living in your denim and looking that way.
Wash to tighten, wear aggressively.
Ripton denim is a miracle of modern science, but it’s still mostly cotton. Wear it often, and it will conform to your body and stretch out. Washing your apparel won’t necessarily “shrink” it, but it’ll regenerate the fabric to how it fit when new. It’s the ciiiiiircle, the circle of liiiiiiife.
Chill out, don’t wash your Ripton with hot water.
Stick to your washing machine’s cold cycle, or use an old-timey washboard in your sink.
Help your overalls go the distance. Before washing, buckle the suspenders and tuck them into the overalls. Hang dry overalls to avoid damaging suspenders in the dryer.
On the subject of dryers, what’s the rush, people?! Let your denim air-dry, or if you must, use the lowest setting on your dryer.
Having buyer’s remorse after getting some hemmed jorts? If there is a pair of scissors in your junk drawer, you can quickly transform them into cut-offs. It is like taming a wild animal — be assertive and do not show fear. Line up your hems front-to-back. Cut each leg in one chop, left-to-right, so it’s (mostly) even.
Same thing goes for your jeans if they're a little too long and you don't want to cuff 'em.
It doesn’t need to be washed that often.
Trust your denim. It can take a beating. It’s softer and more comfortable than you think — dare to leave your chamois in your drawer.
